The P-51D Mustang Which Appeared In May 1944, Came Built With A Laminar Airfoil And Undersurface To Minimize Air Resistance, Making It More Aero Dynamical. For Its Power, The P-51D Packed A Supercharged Packard Merlin V1650-7 Engine. A Teardrop Type Canopy Provided Excellent Visibility For The Pilot, And Had Six Daunting 13.7Mm Guns At His Disposal. Auxiliary Drop Tanks Enabled The Mustang To Achieve A Continuous Flight Range Up To 3700Km, Which Allowed It To Provide U.S. Bombers Effective Protection Against The German Me109 And Fw190 Interceptors All The Way To Germany.
